As an AI Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in building, deploying, and operating the next generation of AI-powered engineering solutions. You will work hands-on with Generative AI, Agentic AI, cloud-native architectures, and modern software engineering practices to bring innovative capabilities into production.

You will design and implement production-ready AI solutions on AWS, enabling intelligent engineering workflows, knowledge-driven applications, and autonomous AI assistants.

Working in a multidisciplinary team of product managers, software architects, AI specialists, and developers, you will help establish the technical foundation for Siemens' next generation of AI-enabled products.

Your new responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate scalable AI-powered applications and platform services, leveraging Large Language Models and Amazon Web Services as foundational technologies
• Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions by integrating enterprise knowledge sources and implementing advanced AI agents and multi-agent workflows to automate engineering processes
• Develop and maintain cloud-native infrastructures using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment, and operational excellence
• Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end AI-powered user experiences, contributing to platform architecture, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement of software engineering practices
• Evaluate, monitor, and optimise AI system quality, reliability, and cost, applying observability principles and implementing guardrails to ensure secure and maintainable platform operations

Your talents and experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a comparable field, with several years of relevant professional experience
• Proven experience in software engineering, cloud engineering or AI platform development, including delivering production-grade software solutions
• Practical expertise in developing Generative AI solutions, deploying Large Language Models (LLMs), and working with Amazon Bedrock and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend service development, with additional experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment patterns on Amazon Web Services
• You demonstrate a pragmatic engineering mindset, a passion for emerging technologies, excellent problem-solving skills and strong collaboration and communication abilities
• Proficiency in English is required; German language skills are an advantage
