About the role

We are building the foundation for AI across WSM.

Our goal is to move from isolated AI experiments to scalable, governed, and high-impact AI usage across all teams. To achieve this, we areestablishinga unified AI platform and enabling teams to use AI as part of their daily work and products.

As an AI Platform Engineer, you will build andoperatethis platform and enable teams across WSM to use AI in a safe, modern, and scalable way.

What You'll Responsible For:

Key Responsibilities

1. AI Platform (Data + Dev)

You will build the foundation for AI at WSM.

  • Develop a unified AI platform using:
    • Azure AI Foundry
    • Snowflake Cortex AI
    • GitHub ecosystem (Copilot, CI/CD)
  • Provide a single path for LLM access and agent development
  • Build reusable capabilities:
    • RAG pipelines
    • Agent workflows
    • Prompt evaluation and management
  • Ensure integration with Snowflake and dbt data foundation
  • Embed security, cost control, and governance by design

2. AI Adoption (Copilot / LLMs)

You will help make AI part of everyday work.

  • Roll out and support Copilot and enterprise AI tools
  • Reduce friction in access, onboarding, and usage
  • Develop guidelines and guardrails for safe usage
  • Provide playbooks and examples for:
    • Coding
    • Writing
    • Analysis
  • Track real usage and impact, not just licenses

Domain AI Enablement

You will support product teams in building AI that creates value.

  • Work with domain teams (operations, fleet, compliance, etc.)
  • Help teams build use-case driven AI solutions
  • Provide reference patterns:
    • RAG on internal data
    • AI agents and workflows
  • Promote platform-first over custom ML
  • Support production-ready solutions (performance, reliability, scaling)

What success looks like

  • Teams use a common AI platform instead of building ad-hoc solutions
  • AI tools are used daily across roles, not just in experiments
  • Product teams deliver AI-driven capabilities in production
  • AI usage at WSM is secure, scalable, and cost-controlled

Required Qualifications

  • ​Strong software engineering background (backend/platform)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Solid understanding of APIs, integrations, and system design
  • Experience with data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, SQL, dbt or similar)
  • Exposure to LLMs, embeddings, or RAG concepts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure AI services or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with GitHub and developer tooling
  • Experience building internal platforms or enabling other teams
  • Interest in applying AI to real business problems

Location

The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur officelocatedat KLSentralwhich is a strategic work location with convenience travelling by Monorail, Rapid Kelana Jaya Line, MRT and KTM services as well as easy to get to go by public transportation.
