TL;DR

We're looking for an exceptional AI Software Engineer to build the AI-powered People systems that help Lovable scale.

As Lovable grows, we're rethinking how work gets done. Rather than relying on traditional HR software, we're building AI-native products that transform hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, identity, compliance, and other core People workflows.

You'll work embedded with our People team, partnering closely with stakeholders to understand problems, design solutions, and ship production-ready software. Many of the products you build won't stop at improving Lovable internally — they have the potential to become capabilities we offer to customers in the future, giving you the opportunity to shape products that start inside Lovable and scale far beyond it.

You'll help define how AI transforms internal operations. You'll work directly with the People team to identify problems, design solutions, and build products that improve how Lovable operates every day.

As Lovable scales, we're building the operating system the company runs on—function by function, directly in Lovable. The People team is one of the first. You'll help define how AI transforms one of our most important internal functions, and the best ideas will eventually become building blocks for our customers.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a software engineer with strong product instincts and experience building secure software that handles sensitive information.

You'll likely have:

• Experience shipping production software that handles sensitive data — HR tech, fintech, identity management, or similar.
• Experience working with people data, business systems, analytics platforms, or enterprise data infrastructure (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, Fivetran, SQL, etc.).
• Deep familiarity with HR systems and/or ATS platforms (HiBob, Ashby, Workday, Greenhouse, or similar), either as a builder or through close collaboration with People teams.
• Experience designing secure systems with role-based access control and data permissioning.
• Strong product instincts—you think end-to-end, ask why, and care about building products people actually use.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate operational challenges into technical solutions.
• Experience building products from scratch and taking them into production.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience at an HR technology company, Work OS platform, or identity provider,
• Experience with HRIS, ATS, compensation, workforce planning tools.
• Experience building AI-powered products or internal tooling.
• Experience working closely with People or Operations teams.

What you'll do

In one sentence:

Build AI-powered People systems that make Lovable run better — and create products that can graduate from internal tools to customer-facing features.

Examples include:

• Partner with the People team to identify, scope, and ship AI-powered internal products.
• Build integrations with HR systems (HiBob, Ashby, etc.), ATS platforms, and identity providers.
• Design secure systems with robust role-based permissions and access controls.
• Develop predictive and diagnostic models (workforce trends, hiring capacity, retention risks, compensation dynamics).
• Create canonical datasets and source-of-truth models for hiring, headcount, compensation, organizational design, and workforce planning.
• Data governance — source-of-truth logic, naming conventions, ownership.
• Own products end-to-end—from research and design through implementation, deployment, and iteration.
• Translate operational challenges into elegant technical solutions.
• Build systems that meet legal and compliance requirements for handling sensitive employee data.
• Work closely with other AI Ops Engineers, sharing building blocks, patterns, and learnings across Lovable's functions.
• Build AI agents, workflows, dashboards, and decision-support tools that help leaders make better decisions.
