Job Description

The AI Operating Model Integrator understands how AI changes the underlying “machinery” of the business. This role looks at SCOR as a system — data, decisions, workflows, and controls — and redesigns it for an AI-driven world. The individual uses technical knowledge to challenge existing ways of working and propose new operating patterns where humans and AI interact differently to create value.

  • Analyse SCOR’s end to end processes as systems and identify where AI changes how information should flow and how decisions can be made.

  • Redesign workflows to take advantage of new AI capabilities — not just to automate tasks, but to restructure how work gets done.

  • Identify places where AI shifts bottlenecks, reduces latency, improves prediction, or changes the balance between human judgment and machine assistance.

  • Translate technical constraints (data availability, model behaviour, failure modes) into business ready operating designs.

  • Prototype new “AI-native” patterns of work and test them with business stakeholders.

  • Act as the connector between engineering, data, underwriting, claims, and risk to define end to end AI-enabled processes.

  • Support governance, risk assessments, and regulatory considerations for AI systems.

  • Strong technical foundation from early-career technical experience (engineering, data science, ML, or AI platforms).
  • Masters Degree from a top-tier university in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a technical equivalent.

  • Subsequent experience in business, insurance, transformation, or product roles.

  • Understanding of AI systems, their limitations, and real-world constraints.
  • Experience in regulated industries (insurance or financial services preferred).
  • Ability to abstract complexity and see how technical capabilities reshape processes and decisions.
  • Skilled at simplifying complex technical ideas so business leaders can act on them.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions about how things “have always been done.”
  • Collaborative and skilled at bridging engineering and business teams.
  • Pragmatic, curious, and focused on feasible solutions.

Success Indicators

  • Clear and realistic identification of high-impact AI opportunities.
  • Redesigned processes and workflows that safely and effectively incorporate AI.
  • Strong alignment between technology and business teams.
  • Improved understanding of AI potential and limitations across SCOR leadership.

About SCOR

SCOR, one of the world's largest reinsurers, provides its clients with a diversified and innovative range of solutions to control and manage risk. Using its experience and expertise, “The Art & Science of Risk”, SCOR provides cutting-edge financial solutions, analytics tools and services in all areas related to risk – in Life & Health as well as in P&C.

The reinsurance industry is about combining technical expertise and experience with the developments of science. However many tools we use to conduct our activities (models, databases, pricing tools, reserving tools, and so on), we also need expert judgments and human experience to correctly underwrite. This is what we call the art of underwriting. Reinsurance is a knowledge industry. Expertise is an accumulation variable.

The most advanced tool will never replace the intuition of a seasoned underwriter facing a complex risk. Because at the end of the day, you have to make a decision, to sign, to underwrite. And what we have underwritten, we cannot overwrite - our word is our bond, as is our signature. This dimension of our business, linked to the art of underwriting, is more important than some observers would have people believe.

One way to acquire this art is to share experiences – both good and bad – and to share doubts and questions. Artists always belong to a school, from which they learn their craft.

Like artists, we have to learn, imitate, mimic, and then innovate, in order to find our own style and create our own distinctive work.
