AI/ML Engineer I

We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to join our Artificial Intelligence and Automation team. The ideal candidate will bring proven hands-on experience delivering Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions to production, along with strong Python engineering skills and sound judgment in data-driven problem solving. In this role you will independently own the design, development, and deployment of AI features spanning Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), MLOps pipelines, Intelligent Automation, and AI-powered enterprise solutions.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable AI solutions, contribute to engineering standards, and support junior engineers as the team grows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently design, develop, and deploy Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions that address defined business problems.
• Build, fine-tune, evaluate, and optimize AI/ML models using Python and modern frameworks, ensuring quality, reliability, and performance.
• Design and deliver production-grade Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines over enterprise knowledge sources, including chunking, embedding, and retrieval optimization.
• Develop AI Agents and multi-agent workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen, including tool integration and orchestration.
• Own components of the end-to-end ML lifecycle: data preparation, feature engineering, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Implement and maintain MLOps pipelines for model deployment, versioning, monitoring, and retraining using CI/CD best practices.
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, databases, vector stores, and cloud platforms.
• Apply prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails to improve accuracy, safety, and cost-efficiency of LLM-based systems.
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and data teams to scope requirements and deliver AI solutions on schedule.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and reusable components.
• Support and guide junior engineers and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions on emerging AI tools.
• Produce clear technical documentation, test suites, and deployment artifacts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related software engineering roles.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience writing production-quality, well-tested code.
• Solid understanding of Machine Learning concepts including supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning techniques.
• Practical experience building applications with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Hands-on experience with at least one agentic AI or LLM orchestration framework (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar).
• Experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with vector databases.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, Git, Docker, and cloud services.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-collaboration abilities.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Proficiency with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face.
• Production experience with LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Azure OpenAI, or Gemini.
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, Chroma, or pgvector.
• Hands-on MLOps experience with MLflow, model registries, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience deploying on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud), including containerized workloads.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools.
• Experience with LLM evaluation, observability, and cost/latency optimization.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio of applied AI work.
