AI Innovation Engineer

About the Role

We're seeking an AI Innovation Engineer to join our newly formed AI Innovation team, reporting directly to the Director of AI Innovation. You'll be building transformative AI-powered products that solve real business problems across multiple industries-from relationship management platforms to market intelligence tools.

  • Build high-impact AI products: Design, prototype, and deploy AI-powered solutions that solve critical business problems across media, investment, shipping, and family office operations
  • Leverage cutting-edge AI tools: Leverage low-code platforms, workflow automation tools, and the latest LLM APIs to build faster and smarter
  • Drive data insights: Procure, clean, and analyze data from diverse sources to generate actionable insights that inform product development and business strategy
  • Own end-to-end delivery: Take projects from concept through to production, iterating rapidly based on user feedback and business needs

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in software development, data analytics, AI implementation, or related technical roles
  • Formal education in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative field from a reputable institution
  • Fluency in both English and Greek (written and spoken)-you'll be working with stakeholders across international and local operations

Software Development & Technical Fluency

  • Strong programming skills across multiple languages-Python, R, JavaScript, SQL, or others depending on the problem at hand
  • Comfortable working with APIs, webhooks, and integrating various systems and services
  • Not afraid to dive into documentation, troubleshoot issues, or learn new frameworks quickly

Data Engineering, Analytics & Visualization

  • End-to-end data pipeline experience: identifying and procuring data from diverse sources (APIs, databases, web scraping, third-party providers, internal systems)
  • Expert-level data cleaning, transformation, and quality assurance – you can build robust automated pipelines with thorough QA checks.
  • Statistical analysis and insight generation: You can go beyond data processing to pair raw data and business needs to surface meaningful patterns and actionable insights
  • Data visualization and storytelling: ability to create compelling dashboards, reports, and visual narratives that communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with modern data tools and platforms (pandas, SQL databases, data warehouses, BI tools like Tableau/Power BI/Looker).
  • UX / UI experience is a plus.

AI-Native Approach

  • You're genuinely excited about AI and actively experiment with the latest tools in your personal and professional life.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, GPT-4, etc.), understanding their capabilities, limitations, and optimal use cases.
  • Familiarity with AI agents, RAG systems, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and emerging AI paradigms.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code AI platforms (Lovable, Cursor, Replit, v0, etc.) to accelerate development
  • Proficiency with workflow automation and orchestration tools (N8N, Make, Zapier, or similar) to build intelligent, connected systems

Technical Infrastructure

  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (we use Azure) and understanding of when to leverage cloud services vs. build custom solutions
  • Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly to IT teams and collaborate on infrastructure needs
  • Experience with containerization, serverless functions, or other modern deployment approaches is a plus

Preferred

  • Product development or product management experience-you've shipped something people actually use
  • Track record of interesting AI-based projects or products (GitHub repos, side projects, open-source contributions, hackathon wins)
  • Experience in consulting, startups, or fast-paced environments where you wore multiple hats
