Job Description

Holland America Line has been exploring the world since 1873. Our ships offer innovative features and enriching experiences focused on destination exploration and personalized travel, inviting guests to savor the journey.
We’re looking for an experienced AI Innovation Analyst to fill this role. The AI Innovation Analyst operates as an embedded specialist within a specific business function at Holland America Line and Seabourn, serving as a core contributor to the organization’s AI Innovation team. The role spans deep domain immersion, handson solution development, and crossfunctional collaboration with both operational stakeholders and Technical Automation. The analyst is responsible for understanding how the assigned business area functions day to day, identifying where AIdriven tools can create measurable value, and developing proofofconcepts (POCs) that are built with production scalability in mind. This position sits at the center of a modern, iterative operating model that bridges business operations and technology delivery.

Here’s a summary of what Holland America Line is looking for in its AI Innovation Analyst. Is this you?

Responsibilities

  • POC Development & Delivery

    • Build functional POCs — including dashboards, automated workflows, and decision-support tools — and put them in the hands of business users for structured testing and feedback.

    • Iterate rapidly on POCs based on user feedback, refining functionality until the solution meets the majority of business requirements.

    • Collaborate with Technical Automation throughout the build process — from early architectural alignment through production engineering — ensuring shared context, not just a handoff. Prepare and maintain documentation including functional specifications, architectural decisions, known limitations, and outstanding requirements.

    • Maintain code quality, architecture standards, and documentation to ensure all POCs are production-ready at handoff.

    • Adhere to and assist in defining technical standards for creating scalable POCs.

  • Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Develop thorough working knowledge of your assigned business function, including its core workflows, performance measurement, and operational constraints.

    • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the AI Innovation team, translating operational pain points into clear, actionable requirements.

    • Identify and prioritize AI opportunities where automation, prediction, or intelligent tooling can measurably improve efficiency, reduce cost, or enhance decision-making.

    • Develop business cases that quantify AI impact in terms leadership uses to make decisions.

  • Innovation & Capability Development

    • Work with the Director, AI Innovation to scope emerging capabilities relevant to your business domain.

    • Support emerging builders within business teams by providing technical guidance, quality assurance, and a clear path from prototype to production.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required.

  • Master's Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

  • No minimum years of experience required — recent graduates with strong building capability and genuine curiosity for AI are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience in cruise, travel, hospitality, or related operations is a plus.

  • Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and prompt engineering.

  • Familiarity with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures.

  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • API integration and REST API development.

  • Version control with Git/GitHub.

  • Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB).

  • Exposure to agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI).

  • Basic front-end skills (HTML/CSS/JS or a framework like React) for POC UI.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to learn new operational domains quickly.

  • Hands-on building experience — you have built a working tool, dashboard, automation, or application, whether in a professional, academic, or personal context. Experience with AI-native development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Kiro is a must.

  • Ownership mindset — you take responsibility for outcomes from problem identification through to adoption, and you stay engaged until the solution is actually working for its users.

  • Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to translate between business language and technical requirements.

  • Genuine interest in emerging technology and a drive to apply it to real operational problems — you follow how AI tooling is evolving because you're curious.
