The Role
The ideal candidate will combine image data with AI technology to solve diverse business challenges for clients. The candidate will engage with cutting-edge technologies in generative AI and multimodal fields, driving innovation in society and industry. This role requires a wide range of skills, from solution proposal to development delivery, negotiation, and communication, involving both technical and business interactions with clients. This is the ideal environment for those who wish to continuously deepen their professional expertise in the rapidly growing AI image sector and create business value for clients.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and development on key technologies such as object learning, recognition, classification, and prediction within the AI/CV domain, focusing on image data from cameras, satellites, etc.
- Respond to the growing demand for client AI image projects by providing solutions based on cutting-edge technologies.
- Engage in research and development in the field of Generative AI, including multimodal methods such as image2text, text2image, video2sound, and text2video.
- Quickly break down client technical requirements, create proposal presentations, articulate FPT's technological features and competitive differentiation, develop project plans and quotations, and handle negotiations and Q&A sessions.
- Submit papers to international conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, SIGGRAPH, and journals like IEEE Transactions, ACM Transactions, Nature, and Science.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience and understanding of real-world environmental issues that cannot be solved solely by AI image models
- Willingness to go beyond applying existing AI models, referencing the latest papers, and proposing new processing algorithms combined with personal creativity
- Possession of image processing and computer vision skills in addition to AI image technology
- Experience and skills in accurately learning and predicting characteristics such as non-stationarity, non-linearity, excessive changes, and abnormal changes in time-series image data containing temporal and spatial variations
- Advanced programming skills and experience in developing new algorithms in AI images, computer vision, or physics domains (Python [Priority], C/C++, Java, etc.)
- Experience conducting R&D using CPUs, GPUs, especially cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Strong interest and proactive attitude towards mathematics, physics, information science, control theory, and related professional areas
- Ability to proactively deconstruct client problems and quickly organize and integrate requirement definitions
- Experience using AI (such as Generative AI) for requirement analysis, documentation writing, and design assistance, or willingness to learn these skills
- Experience leveraging AI to improve business efficiency or quality, or strong interest in exploring such applications
- Understanding or interest in system architecture design predicated on AI (including architectural planning for AI applications)
- Ability to collaborate with an open mind in cross-cultural, multi-national environments
- Ability to communicate fully with clients and team members in Japanese and English
- Experience publishing/submission/acceptance of papers at international conferences (CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, SIGGRAPH) or journals (IEEE, ACM, Nature, Science), not limited to AI/CV fields; first-author publications are highly preferred
- Ph.D. in STEM fields (Engineering, Science, Information Science, etc.) is a plus
