In this role, you'll:


Be working as part of a team delivering enterprise-wide data, AI governance and regulatory assurance outcomes, this role will see you lead the end-to-end delivery of Transport’s AI Governance & Compliance program.

You will operationalise the NSW AI Assessment Framework (AIAF) across projects, procurement and BAU change, embed mandatory assurance gates, and coordinate cross-functional reviews spanning Legal, Privacy, Ethics, Cyber Security and Procurement.

You will lead the development and activation of Transport’s AI Policy and Governance Framework, navigate complex regulatory and risk landscapes, and build scalable, fit-for-purpose governance and assurance processes in a large, highly regulated and rapidly evolving AI environment.

Please note this position is called Senior Manager Data Governance in our structure. The role is Fixed Term until 30/09/2026 and is based in Macquarie Park with hybrid work arrangements supported.

About you


Your extensive leadership experience, formed across 15+ years in Data and AI transformation, governance, compliance and risk within large, complex organisations, will see you drive high‑quality outcomes, navigate organisational challenges and deliver mature, scalable governance capabilities.

You're recognised as a strategic and influential leader, skilled at guiding multidisciplinary teams with a strong delivery focus, and experienced in implementing leading Data and AI governance solutions (such as Collibra, IBM Watson, Credo AI and Informatica) while engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including executives.

Experience implementing or operating AI risk and compliance frameworks, such as the NSW AI Assessment Framework (AIAF) or equivalent models, alongside deep knowledge of leading AI governance standards and their practical application, e.g. NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 23894, is desirable.
