Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI-First Senior Software Engineer based in Brazil.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role focused on building modern, scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications while using AI to transform the software development lifecycle. You will combine deep software engineering expertise with an AI-first mindset to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and automate repetitive engineering workflows. The role centers on Java, Python, Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, microservices, and distributed systems. You will take end-to-end ownership of the services you build, from technical design through deployment and continuous improvement. Collaboration with architects, product owners, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders will be central to your success. You will also help mentor other engineers and promote practical adoption of AI across engineering teams.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, enterprise-grade cloud-native applications and services.
  • Build robust microservices and REST APIs using Java and Python.
  • Leverage Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake to develop modern data and application solutions.
  • Apply AI-first development practices to accelerate software delivery, automate repetitive engineering activities, improve code quality, and increase developer productivity.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of services throughout their lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement solutions based on distributed systems and modern cloud-native architectures.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps workflows.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, technical design sessions, code reviews, sprint planning, and other Agile delivery activities.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, product owners, QA, DevOps, business stakeholders, and distributed engineering teams.
  • Work effectively with onsite and offshore teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a collaborative environment.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while promoting engineering excellence and effective AI adoption.
  • Investigate complex technical issues, troubleshoot production and development problems, and implement sustainable solutions.

    • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
    • Strong hands-on expertise in both Java and Python.
    • Proven experience working with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native technologies.
    • Strong experience with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake.
    • Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise-grade microservices and REST APIs.
    • Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architecture principles.
    • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
    • Proficiency with Git, automated testing frameworks, and Agile software development methodologies.
    • Demonstrated ability and interest in applying AI throughout the software development lifecycle to improve productivity, automation, and engineering quality.
    • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business functions.
    • Strong mentoring and technical leadership capabilities, with an interest in driving engineering best practices and AI adoption.
