The Role:
Are you a passionate and experienced leader with a deep interest in AI and a drive to build high-performing teams? We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and inspire a team of talented AI Engineers in developing cutting-edge, AI-driven solutions. Odevo's

This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation, shaping how our organization leverages the power of AI to revolutionize the property management industry. You will foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and technical excellence while guiding your team to deliver impactful results.

You will lead a Stockholm-based team of eight AI Engineers, with additional hiring underway, working in a hybrid setup with three days per week in the office.

You will be reporting to the Head of Engineering and work closely with the Head of AI Product.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead by example as a hands-on engineering manager, able to dive into design discussions, code reviews, and experimentation when it adds value.

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and innovative engineering culture within the AI team.

  • Mentor, coach, and empower engineers at different seniority levels, supporting both technical depth and growth.

  • Own the full performance and development cycle for your team, from setting clear expectations and goals to giving regular, actionable feedback and performance reviews.

  • Build and maintain a healthy, inclusive team environment, addressing challenges early and enabling people to do their best work.

  • Partner with recruitment to attract, assess, and onboard experienced AI Engineers.

Strategy and Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and evolve the technical roadmap and strategy for AI initiatives.

  • Translate product and business objectives into a clear set of priorities for the AI team, ensuring strong alignment with the overall product vision.

  • Represent the AI team in engineering forums and strategic planning sessions, clearly communicating progress, risks, and trade-offs.

  • Stay informed about emerging AI trends and technologies and bring relevant insights into high-level technical discussions and long-term planning.

Who You Are:

  • You are a proven leader with a passion for AI and a track record of building and managing high-performing engineering teams.

  • You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • You are a strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach, able to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in leading and managing software engineering teams

  • Solid background in hands-on software development

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Professional proficiency in Swedish and English, given our interactions with colleagues across the globe.

  • Deep interest in AI and how it’s changing our world.

  • Experience with our tech environment (Cloud services/AWS/GCP, Python/FastAPI, LLMs like GPT-5/Gemini/Claude) is a plus, but not mandatory.
