AI Engineer (LLM & Agentic Systems) | Islamabad | Onsite | PKR Salary

About the Role

We are looking for an AI Engineer to design, build, and ship production-grade AI features across our client projects. You will work hands-on with modern LLM stacks — integrating foundation models into products, building RAG pipelines, developing agentic workflows, and automating business processes. This is an applied engineering role: we value people who can turn LLM capabilities into reliable, working software, not research prototypes. 

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and open-source models) into web and backend applications, including structured outputs, function/tool calling, and streaming.
• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines: document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector search, and re-ranking.
• Build and orchestrate AI agents and multi-step agentic workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or the OpenAI/Claude agent SDKs.
• Develop workflow automations connecting LLMs to third-party tools and APIs (n8n, Make, Zapier, or custom integrations with webhooks).
  Craft, test, and iterate on prompts; evaluate output quality and set up guardrails against hallucination and unsafe responses.
• Expose AI functionality through clean, well-documented APIs (FastAPI/Flask) and deploy services using Docker on cloud platforms.
• Monitor, evaluate, and optimize deployed systems for accuracy, latency, and token/API cost using tools such as LangSmith, Ragas, or similar.
• Collaborate with product, backend, and frontend teams to scope AI features and deliver them within project timelines.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in software or AI engineering, with demonstrable work on LLM powered applications (professional, freelance, or strong portfolio projects).
• Strong Python skills; comfort with REST APIs, Git, and async programming.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM provider APIs and engineering prompts for production use cases.
• Practical experience building RAG systems with at least one vector database (Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate, Chroma, or pgvector).
• Working knowledge of an LLM orchestration/agent framework (LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI).
• Understanding of embeddings, semantic search, context-window management, and token economics. Ability to write clean, maintainable, testable code and debug issues independently.

Nice to Have 

• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers or building custom tool integrations for agents. Exposure to LLM evaluation and observability tooling (LangSmith, Ragas, Langfuse, Braintrust).
• Familiarity with fine-tuning or serving open-source models (Hugging Face, Ollama, vLLM). Experience with automation platforms (n8n, Make, Zapier) in client or internal projects. Cloud deployment experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD basics.
• JavaScript/TypeScript skills for full-stack AI feature work.
  Knowledge of multimodal models (vision, speech) or chatbot/voice-agent development.
