Hiring an Applied AI Engineer to turn frontier AI research into real products. This role is for someone who understands models deeply enough to train, adapt, and improve them, but whose real edge is productizing advanced AI systems end to end
You’ll own major parts of the product from the earliest stage, work closely with the founder and research team, ship quickly, learn where the models break in the real world, and feed those insights back into the underlying AI systems.
What You’ll Own
- Build and ship AI-native products end to end
- Productize frontier multimodal and agentic models for real-world users
- Train, adapt, evaluate, and improve models as needed to make the product work
- Build systems around agentic workflows, computer interaction, and intelligent automation
- Identify model limitations through product development and route those learnings back into research
- Make product and technical decisions independently in highly ambiguous problem spaces
- Take full ownership from prototype through production and iteration
What We’re Looking For
- 3–6 years of experience, with flexibility for exceptional candidates
- Deep applied AI knowledge with experience making advanced models work in production
- Track record of shipping products on top of frontier models
- Experience training or adapting models and productizing them end to end
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to build production-grade systems
- Excellent product intuition and strong 0→1 ownership
- Comfortable working in a very early-stage, fast-moving, high-intensity environment
- High autonomy and ability to figure things out without a predefined playbook
- Strong communication and ability to work closely with founders, researchers, and customers
Strong Green Flags
- Experience at Cognition or a comparable cutting-edge applied AI company
- Shipped agentic, computer-use, multimodal, or enterprise AI products
- Has taken models from experimentation through production and into the hands of real users
- Experience closing the loop between product feedback and model improvement
- Founder, founding engineer, or early employee at a high-growth AI startup
You’re an applied AI builder who wants significant ownership at the earliest stage of a company. You’re comfortable moving from model work to backend systems to product decisions, and you learn fastest by shipping. You don’t need a detailed roadmap or a tightly defined scope, you want to help define both.
