Working alongside experienced technical leaders, you’ll help build and maintain reliable data pipelines and data assets that support AI solutions and business insights. You’ll gain exposure to modern data platforms and tools while collaborating closely with AI Engineers and delivery teams to bring data-driven solutions to life.

A typical day could include:

  • Supporting the preparation of structured and unstructured datasets for AI solutions

  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable briefs for the AI Engineering team

  • Create and maintain user-facing documentation, guides, and training materials for deployed AI solutions

  • Run internal workshops and demonstrations to build AI literacy and drive adoption

  • Act as first point of contact for business stakeholders on AI-related queries and change management

  • Monitor adoption metrics and gather feedback on deployed solutions to inform iteration priorities

  • Develop and deliver internal communications about the AI team’s roadmap, progress, and successes

  • Support the Business Engagement Lead on stakeholder management and executive reporting

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and limitations - sufficient to have credible conversations with engineers

  • Proficiency with collaboration tools: PowerPoint, Confluence, Notion, or equivalent

  • Understanding of core data engineering concepts such as ETL/ELT, data modelling, and data quality

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn and grow within a team environment

It would be a bonus if you also have exposure to:

  • Cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP

  • Tools such as DTB, Airflow, Data Factory, or similar orchestration platforms

  • Structured and unstructured datasets

  • AI or machine learning data concepts

  • Git or other version-control tools

Additional Information

We are intentional about finding the right people, allowing us to perform work as a team that truly makes a difference for the business and our customers. The Warehouse Group

About The Warehouse Group

The Warehouse Group (TWG) is a New Zealand success story, founded by Sir Stephen Tindall and evolved from a single The Warehouse store to become one of the largest retailing groups in New Zealand with $3 billion in sales. TWG consists of three core retail brands: The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, and Noel Leeming. We have over 180 retail stores, online stores as well as distribution centres throughout New Zealand. We also have two overseas sourcing offices located in China and India. We are a people-centred business with more than 10,000 team employees across our locations.

TWG is known for being Here for Good - it’s who we are and what keeps us focused to succeed. It represents our commitment to better living for all New Zealanders, through sustainable retail products and practices and the mission of contributing to the long-lasting health of our planet.

Over the years, we’ve raised over 50 million dollars for New Zealand communities and have contributed to countless community-focussed initiatives. We were the first company in New Zealand to add a Shielded Site link to the Women's Refuge website to help protect those experiencing family violence, and were a key supporter of the Government’s Family Violence Victims’ Protection Bill. We were New Zealand’s first large company and the third major retailer in the world to go carbon neutral.

While we are 40+ years old as a business, in many ways we feel we’re just getting started.
