The Role – AI Engineer

As an AI Engineer with backend skills in our cross-functional team, you’ll join our tech team in Stockholm or Halmstad to build AI-powered product experiences end-to-end. You’ll work closely with fellow Software Engineers, Product Designers, and Product Managers to ship LLM-driven features such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search, intelligent assistants, and automation, built for reliability, security, and great UX.

Our Tech Team Lead will manage and support your work, while reporting directly to our VP of Engineering. A glimpse into our tech stack: Python, SQL, Terraform, hosted on AWS, plus an AI stack that includes LLM APIs/open-source models, vector databases/similarity search, retrieval pipelines, evaluation tooling, and observability for production AI.

Your Mission

• Build and ship LLM-powered product features (RAG, assistants, semantic search).

• Productionize AI systems with guardrails, monitoring, evals, and cost/latency control.

• Partner with product/design/engineering to turn use cases into measurable outcomes.

• Build and maintain key platform features, APIs, and services, prioritizing scalability, reliability, and top-tier performance.

• Provide direction and strategic insight on data related topics.

Additionally you will

• Drive ideas and develop concepts from a tech perspective.

• Explore ideas iteratively and refine them into production-quality solutions.

• Contribute to improving the architecture, tech stack, and operational methods.

• Improve our AI development workflow to support safe and reliable production AI.

• Follow and promote good engineering practices to deliver high-quality products.

• Engage in code reviews and foster a culture of continuous learning through constructive feedback.

• Be a positive force for our team culture.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You...

• 4+ years of professional team-based software development experience, with at least some experience building ML/AI-powered features or systems in production.

• Experience working with scalable, product-based environments, where you’ve shipped user-facing features and care about latency, reliability, and real-world constraints.

• Solid understanding of backend systems and data modeling, enough to build reliable text retrieval, integrate with existing services, and reason about data quality, privacy, and access control in AI workflows.

• Passion for applied AI, including prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings/vector search, LLM evaluation, fine-tuning, and model serving.

• Strong collaboration skills and an open-minded approach to exchanging ideas.

• Fluent in English and a team player who values diverse perspectives.

• Swedish citizen or valid EU work permits (we cannot offer visa sponsorship for this role).
