This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious AI engineer who wants to build real-world AI products. You will lead a team to build production-quality text/voice-based chatbots for the largest brands in the world. You will be the founding AI/algorithm engineer for the company. You will also get opportunities to prove your leadership skills and to build your team when we grow.

Day in the Life

You will be responsible for building and improving our AI to drive business outcomes. In your day-to-day life, you will do two types of jobs:

• Build AI Products from Scratch (0-1):
• Work with the Product Manager to understand customers’ pain points and create user stories for the chatbot
• Quickly build prototypes/demos to get feedback from customers
• Improve AI to drive Business outcome (1-100):
• Work with software engineers etc to turn chatbot into a software product
• Iteratively improve model/generation/retrieval/conversation quality by creating metrics, building data flywheel and creating benchmarks, training models, monitoring performances, etc.
• Be the go-to person and bar-raiser for the domain of algorithm/AI/ML engineering

Who You Are

• Strong problem solver
• Expertise in
• AI engineering, like LLM, closed-domain QA/dialogue system, RAG, Information retrieval, knowledge base, and other speech/text/NLP-related fields
• prototyping AI applications with hands-on muscles (0-1)
• systematically tweaking a production system to perform better to business goals (1-100)
• (preferred) In addition to expertise, have a proven track for the above expertise
• Strong communication and project management skills, able to lead and collaborate with cross-functional roles in English and Chinese
• Like the startup culture: scrappily resourceful and have strong ownership
• Ideally based in Shanghai or Chengdu, CN
