About the role

We are looking for a Manager, AI Enablement and Governance to lead the safe, responsible and effective adoption of artificial intelligence across DPH.

You will work closely with clinical, operational and corporate teams to identify meaningful AI opportunities, assess and pilot solutions and support their adoption. At the same time, you will establish the governance, risk and operating frameworks needed to ensure AI is used safely, responsibly and in line with healthcare requirements.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain DPH’s AI roadmap in line with organisational priorities

  • Identify and assess AI opportunities across clinical, operational and corporate functions

  • Translate business needs into practical AI use cases with clear outcomes and success measures

  • Lead the assessment, prioritisation and management of DPH’s AI use case portfolio

  • Coordinate AI pilots, proof of concepts and implementation from assessment through adoption

  • Establish and maintain AI governance policies, standards and risk assessment processes

  • Assess AI solutions for safety, privacy, security, accuracy, transparency, cost and suitability

  • Ensure appropriate human oversight, accountability and controls for higher risk and patient related AI applications

  • Manage AI vendors and support solution evaluation, due diligence, contracts and implementation

  • Monitor deployed AI solutions for performance, reliability, output quality, risks and user feedback

  • Coordinate the investigation and escalation of inaccurate, unsafe, biased or inappropriate AI behaviour

  • Work closely with Cybersecurity, Data Governance and IT teams to manage privacy, security and technology risks

  • Develop AI literacy and responsible use guidance for staff and build internal AI champions

  • Support teams in redesigning workflows and adopting AI enabled ways of working

  • Measure and communicate the benefits of AI initiatives including time savings, service quality, user experience, safety and cost

  • Provide management with updates on AI opportunities, portfolio progress, risks and benefits

What we are looking for

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems or a related discipline

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in AI, digital transformation, technology governance, data governance or related areas

  • Practical experience in evaluating, piloting or implementing AI, analytics or generative AI solutions

  • Good understanding of responsible AI principles including safety, human oversight, privacy, transparency, fairness and accountability

  • Experience in vendor management, business requirements, UAT, change management and benefits realisation

  • Strong ability to translate between technical and non technical stakeholders and understand business or clinical workflows

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, organisational and problem solving skills

  • Healthcare, community care or social service experience would be an advantage

  • Relevant training or certification in AI, AI governance, data governance, risk, project management or change management would be an added advantage
