Key Responsibilities

AI Product Ownership & Delivery

  • Own and prioritize the AI product backlog aligned to approved demand and enterprise AI strategy.

  • Define AI use cases, success criteria, and expected outcomes.

  • Ensure AI solutions meet acceptance criteria and are secure, usable, and production ready.

SAFe Agile Execution

  • Lead delivery through PI Planning, backlog refinement, system demos, and Inspect & Adapt events.

  • Align team objectives with PI Objectives and Program priorities.

  • Balance experimentation with scalable, production-grade AI delivery.

Azure DevOps Ownership

  • Use Azure DevOps as the system of record for AI Features, User Stories, and Enablers.

  • Ensure work items clearly define business intent and acceptance criteria.

Collaboration with Caterpillar IT & Fusion Teams

  • Partner with Caterpillar IT and platform teams to leverage enterprise AI platforms.

  • Operate within AI fusion team delivery models and coordinate cross-team dependencies.

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity standards.

AI Governance & Responsible Use

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise AI policies, responsible AI standards, and security requirements.

  • Support required AI inventory, review, and approval processes.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary interface between business stakeholders and AI delivery teams.

  • Communicate progress, risks, and value delivered in executive-ready language.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in IT product delivery. Formal education combined with demonstrated experience in IT product management, Agile delivery, or digital solution ownership will be considered in lieu of a specific degree discipline.

  • Experience as a Product Owner, Delivery Lead, or similar role delivering AI-enabled solutions.

  • Strong working knowledge of SAFe Agile delivery.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps.

  • Practical understanding of AI solution delivery concepts.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, federated enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering AI or Generative AI–enabled products into production.

  • Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms and cloud-based AI services.

  • SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager (POPM) or equivalent Agile certification.

Success Characteristics

  • Strong ownership and delivery mindset.

  • Comfortable operating amid ambiguity and rapid iteration.

  • Effective collaborator across Solar, Caterpillar IT, and fusion teams.

  • Able to translate AI complexity into clear business outcomes.

Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
