The Opportunity

CACI is seeking an experienced senior-level developer to define and lead how our team leverages modern AI tools in software development, exhibiting strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as a record of accomplishment in successful project execution.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing and optimizing an AI-assisted development environment, not building AI products. You will be responsible for standards, tooling, and AI-assisted development workflows that enable yourself and a small engineering team to effectively and securely use foundational models via Amazon Bedrock to their fullest extent
You will act as both a technical authority and individual contributor, shaping how AI is used across development, QA, and technical writing workflows. Working for DHA and Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic for a Navy Medicine Online Project. The project is within the Defense Health Readiness Engineering portfolio.

What This Role Is Not
Education and Experience:
Education: University degree (BA/BS) or 5+ years of experience.
Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with professional experience working with AI-powered development tools. Experience with at least one major LLM API platform: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Cohere, or equivalent. Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques: chain-of-thought, few-shot prompting, structured output, tool/function calling.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$98,500-$206,800
