AI CoE Strategy and Planning Lead

We’re looking for an AI CoE Strategy and Planning Lead to join Telia and play a important role in shaping how our organization adopts, scales, and realizes value from AI.

I’m Henrik Hofling, Technology AI Center of Excellence Lead, and I’m looking for a strategic yet hands‑on driver who thrives at the intersection of AI transformation and change management. This is a highly visible role at Telia — one that will influence critical decisions, guide strategic priorities, and ensure our AI initiatives achieve real business outcomes while the organization is fully prepared for an AI‑driven future.

With hundreds of active use cases and growing adoption across the company, the next challenge is ensuring clear strategy in each organization, organizational readiness, and tangible value realization. This role exists to make that shift happen.

As the AI CoE Strategy and Planning Lead, you will be a key enabler behind Telia’s AI transformation. You are responsible for driving and enabling the execution of the Technology AI Strategy across major initiatives — ensuring alignment, unlocking potential, supporting in achieving intended outcomes, and preparing the organizations to embrace new ways of working.

We are looking for a true collaborator with a strong execution mindset. In this role, you will shape high‑level strategy for AI adoption across departments while also actively drive execution. Your impact will be felt both in strategic direction‑setting and in the practical, day‑to‑day delivery required to make AI adoption stick.

Key Responsibilities

AI Strategy, Vision & Direction

  • Shape and articulate a clear, tangible AI vision that translates Telia’s ambitions into practical direction for business and technology stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the evolution of the Technology AI Strategy by defining priorities, outcomes, and success criteria that guide AI adoption at scale.

  • Ensure AI strategy is actionable by connecting vision to roadmaps, initiatives, and measurable business value.

Stakeholder‑Driven Planning & Orchestration

  • Build and maintain integrated plans that align business leaders, Technology teams, HR, and enablement functions around shared AI goals.

  • Act as a unifying force across stakeholders, ensuring clear ownership, aligned expectations, and coordinated execution across AI initiatives.

  • Proactively manage dependencies, risks, and decision paths to move AI initiatives from intent to impact.

AI Initiatives & Value Adoption Execution

  • Partner hands‑on with AI initiatives and project teams to support change activities, adoption planning, and value realization.

  • Help teams embed AI capabilities into everyday processes, roles, and decision‑making to ensure solutions are actively used.

  • Remove organizational barriers and address resistance that prevents AI initiatives from delivering intended outcomes.

Change Management & Business Readiness

  • Lead and execute change management activities tied to AI initiatives, ensuring the organization is ready to adopt new ways of working.

  • Drive stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, readiness plans, and transition roadmaps for AI‑enabled change.

  • Act as a player‑coach by guiding others while actively contributing to operational change delivery.

Enablement, Communication & Capability Building

  • Define enablement needs related to AI adoption, including techincal analysis, change management, and new ways of working.

  • Collaborate with Governance functions, such as Legal, Privacy and Security securing a responsible AI development.

  • Support leaders and teams in building confidence, competence, and trust in AI‑enabled solutions.

Value Tracking, Learning & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor adoption, readiness, and value realization across AI initiatives and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Capture lessons learned, best practices, and adoption patterns and feed them into shared playbooks and enablement approaches.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement in how Telia scales AI through better reuse, prioritization, and execution.

Requirements & Key Skills

You understand what it takes to bring an AI concept from technical pilot to full‑scale business integration. While you have a solid understanding of AI technologies and milestones, your true strength lies in translating complexity into clarity and driving the people, processes, and change required to deliver sustained AI value. You don’t just help deliver AI solutions - you ensure the organization adopts them and benefits from them.

  • AI & Technology Transformation Experience
    Extensive experience driving technology strategy, digital transformation, or complex technology initiatives in large organizations. Proven exposure to AI, machine learning, or data‑driven initiatives; telecom experience is a strong advantage.

  • AI Understanding & Value Focus
    Strong understanding of AI technologies, use cases, and value drivers, with the ability to connect AI capabilities to concrete business outcomes.

  • Cross‑Domain & Organizational Experience
    Experience working across multiple technology domains (e.g. IT, Networks) and navigating large, multi‑market or federated organizations with diverse stakeholders and dependencies.

  • Stakeholder Influence & Leadership
    Demonstrated ability to influence senior‑level stakeholders, drive cross‑company alignment, and manage expectations across business and technology - with or without formal authority.

  • Analytical & Conceptual Strength
    Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to translate complexity into clear insights, narratives, and executive‑level decision support related to adoption, impact, and value realization.

  • Adaptive & Innovative Mindset
    Curious and forward‑looking, with a passion for innovation, emerging technologies, and shaping the future. Able to adapt thinking and ways of working as contexts evolve.

  • People Management & Collaboration
    Experience collaborating, coaching, or developing people, and working across teams and functions to achieve shared outcomes.

  • The “Doer” Mentality
    A hands‑on, pragmatic mindset - willing to step out of a coordination role and actively contribute when needed, supported by experience driving or building AI‑enabled solutions.
