Position Summary

We are currently seeking an AI Business Strategy & Transformation Intern located in our Dallas, TX office. This is a paid internship opportunity, available for the fall, spring, or summer term based on candidate availability

This intern will support the AI Business Strategy & Transformation team's work mapping current-state processes across HOC departments and identifying where those processes should be improved, automated, or handled by an AI agent. The intern will help build and test AI agents for the smaller AI opportunities identified. For major AI projects they shall develop a scope of work for the IT department to evaluate and implement as part of their development pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with cross-departmental process mapping using the APQC Process Classification Framework, documenting current-state (as-is) workflows across functions
  • Analyze mapped processes and identify improvement opportunities, sorting each into the right category: improvement, automation, or AI improvement
  • Where their skills allow build and test AI agents for the opportunities identified, working with the user department through scope, build, test and deployment
  • Help define scopes of work for AI improvement initiatives to be presented to the IT department. Act as liaison between IT and the user department during build and test phases
  • Prepare documentation, opportunity register updates, and briefing materials summarizing findings for department leadership

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with AI/LLM concepts and basic agent development (prompting, tool use, or agent frameworks)
  • Self-starter and excellent work ethic
  • Exceptional creativity and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and areas of responsibility concurrently
  • Bring innovative ideas and a fresh perspective to identifying process improvement, automation, and AI opportunities
  • Ability to provide academic transcripts

Required Experience

  • Rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree or master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3.0 grade point average
  • Experience with data analysis or process documentation (spreadsheets, workflow/process diagrams)
  • Exposure to process improvement, business analysis, or the APQC Process Classification Framework is a plus
