Job Description

Position: AI Automation Engineer (1-Year Fixed Term Contract)

Job Mission

To design, build, and deploy AI-powered automation systems that transform complex, repetitive, and decision-intensive business processes into scalable, intelligent workflows. This role enables Medifab Global to achieve higher efficiency, accuracy, and cost effectiveness while freeing teams to focus on higher-value, creative, and strategic work through the practical application of modern AI and automation technologies.

Accountabilities

Develop and maintain an enterprise AI & automation roadmap aligned to business priorities

  • Approved roadmap delivered within first 6 months

Deliver high-impact AI automation initiatives

  • Minimum of 2 major and 5 minor AI/automation implementations delivered within 12 months

Improve operational efficiency through automation

  • Measurable reduction in manual effort, cycle time, or error rates per implementation

Ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability of AI systems

  • Production automations meet agreed performance, uptime, and quality standards

Enable safe and responsible use of AI across business processes

  • Compliance with internal governance, security, and ethical AI standards

Responsibilities

  • Analyse end-to-end business processes to identify automation and AI augmentation opportunities
  • Design intelligent automation architectures, including agent-based systems, RAG pipelines, and multi-step workflows
  • Build, test, and deploy AI-powered automations using modern frameworks and orchestration tools
  • Integrate AI systems with internal and external platforms using APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures
  • Implement prompt engineering strategies and model-chaining techniques to ensure reliable and repeatable outputs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Monitor, optimise, and iterate deployed automations based on performance and business feedback
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and handover materials
  • Stay current with emerging AI, automation, and agentic system trends and apply learnings pragmatically

Qualifications and Experience

Required Knowledge

  • Modern AI/Generative AI systems and agentic architectures
  • AI automation frameworks and workflow orchestration patterns
  • API-driven system integration and event-based architectures
  • Secure, responsible, and ethical use of AI in business environments

Required Skills (Non-Negotiable)

  • Strong coding skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Advanced LLM / Generative AI usage and prompt engineering
  • Hands-on experience with AI automation frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, Haystack, or similar
  • Strong API, integration, and orchestration capabilities (REST/GraphQL, webhooks, workflow engines)
  • Process analysis and mapping skills to design adaptive, intelligent automation flows

Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2–5+ years’ experience in automation engineering, software development, or AI implementation
  • Demonstrable portfolio of real-world, end-to-end AI automation projects (e.g. agent workflows, RAG systems, production bots)
