Join Nokia’s Altiplano AI Innovation team and help shape the future of intelligent broadband networks. As an AI Architect, you will design and deliver next-generation AI and Agentic AI solutions that enable operators to optimize network operations and enhance subscriber experience.

You will collaborate closely with R&D and Product Management teams, working with cutting-edge machine learning technologies embedded in real-world telecom platforms. This role offers the opportunity to drive impactful AI initiatives, experiment with advanced technologies, and build intelligent solutions that solve complex operational challenges.

• Lead active research and innovation in AIOps and Agentic AI, delivering practical solutions for real-world customer use cases.
• Define the architecture and design of network automation applications within the Altiplano Access Controller, playing a key role in shaping the Business Unit’s innovation strategy.
• Stay ahead of industry trends in network management technologies and software engineering practices, identifying and driving adoption of the most impactful advancements.
• Engage directly with customers to understand real-world use cases, rapidly design and develop prototypes, and incorporate immediate feedback into solution refinement.
• Partner closely with engineering teams to translate architectural vision into high-quality, scalable product implementations.
• Mentor and coach a globally distributed engineering organization to ensure strong design principles, high performance, and product quality.
• Contribute to cross-functional and cross-BU R&D discussions, influencing product evolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Champion a culture of innovation by generating new ideas and collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders to bring them to life

Must Have:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electronics or electrical engineering
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, data science, or AI/ML system design, cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and scalable distributed systems
• Must possess a strong track record of architecting, designing & developing career-grade software
• Strong background in applied research and translating research concepts into scalable products and data pipelines and MLOps practices and proficiency in Python and ML frameworks.
• Deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling techniques.
• Fast learner, Strong analytical, problem-solving, and willingness to travel to customer sites as required
• Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with observability, telemetry systems, and large-scale time-series data analytics
• Passionate about software design and development with strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
• Should be hands-on, i.e. able to jump in to trouble shoot, analyze and find the root cause
• Experience in software engineering practices like DevOps, Agile Methodologies, Continuous Integration, Test Automation, Micro-Services, xaaS models is desired
• Prior Experience in Network Management Solutions and Access Technologies(e.g. PON)
• Expertise in management & control plane protocols like NETCONF/YANG, IPFIX, GRPC, etc
