Job Title:AI Application Principal Technologist

The job
The AI Application Principal Technologist will lead the design and implementation of Agent-based capabilities within AVEVA's HMI/SCADA portfolio. This role is responsible for defining AI-native architectures, enabling multi-agent systems, and transforming existing product capabilities into intelligent services accessible through modern AI interaction models. You will work closely with Product and Engineering teams to bring cutting-edge AI technologies into industrial software solutions.
Key responsibilities
Design and implement Agent-based capabilities within HMI/SCADA products.
Define AI-native product architectures and drive adoption of modern AI interaction patterns.
Transform existing product capabilities into Agent-ready and MCP-enabled service architectures.
Design and implement multi-agent systems to enhance product intelligence and automation.
Strong understanding of AI infrastructure, including model serving, vector databases, retrieval systems, inference optimization, observability, and AI operations.
Experience designing and operating AI platforms that support Agent workloads at scale.
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, containerization technologies, and modern AI deployment patterns.
Essential requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
Experience building enterprise AI platforms, AI gateways, RAG systems, vector databases, and model lifecycle management frameworks.
Understanding of AI infrastructure components including model routing, caching, observability, evaluation, security, and cost optimization.
Experience with multi-agent systems and large-scale Agent orchestration frameworks.
Knowledge of industrial software, HMI/SCADA systems, or digital industrial platforms.
Desired skills and competencies
Passion for innovation and a strong curiosity about emerging AI technologies and application patterns.
Ability to drive impact through scalable AI architectures and reusable engineering frameworks.
Experience designing complex multi-agent systems and AI-powered enterprise applications.
Knowledge of industrial software, HMI/SCADA systems, or model customization techniques such as LoRA and Adapter tuning.
