Responsibilities
Integrate and manage a fleet of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) for material transportation within the factory.
Develop or configure fleet management software to dispatch AGVs and monitor their real-time locations.
Coordinate AGV operations with loading and unloading stations and other fixed equipment.
Implement reliable communication between AGVs and central control systems using wireless networks, MQTT, or similar protocols.
Ensure safe and efficient AGV routing, including traffic control and battery charging management.
Synchronize AGV operations with ASRS systems and production equipment to support just-in-time material delivery.
Monitor system performance and maintain stable connectivity for continuous AGV operations.
Requirements
5-10 years of relevant working experience.
Proven experience deploying or integrating AGV systems or mobile robots in an industrial environment.
Strong understanding of AGV fleet management and traffic control strategies.
Experience designing and supporting real-time control systems for vehicle coordination.
Knowledge of safety mechanisms, including collision avoidance and emergency stop protocols.
Familiarity with networking and wireless communication used by AGV systems (e.g., Wi-Fi, vehicle-to-infrastructure communication).
Good-to-Have Skills
Understanding of autonomous vehicle algorithms such as routing, scheduling, and obstacle avoidance.
Experience working with vendor-specific AGV SDKs or APIs for system customization.
Knowledge of MQTT or similar machine-to-machine communication protocols.
Experience integrating AGV status data into MES systems or monitoring dashboards for operational visibility.
