Job Description

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Responsible for the efficient operation and optimization of the automated guided vehicle (AGV) system. Oversees the daily activities related to AGV, ensures seamless material flow, accurate equipment tracking, and effective communications through RF scanners and Vocera devices.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitors and manages AGV fleet, ensures optimal performance and minimal downtime, oversees routing, traffic flow, and task completion, troubleshoots malfunctions, coordinates repairs, and optimizes programming to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs. Develops and maintains documentation for system procedures and protocols.
  • Manages and troubleshoots issues, maintenance, and inventory of RF scanners and Vocera communication devices.
  • Provides technical support to staff on the use of RF scanners and Vocera systems.
  • Provides direction, coaching, and support to operations managers and technicians. Fosters a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities for process improvement related to AGV, RTLS, and related technologies.
  • Conducts regular audits to ensure compliance with procedures and protocols. Ensures all AGV are operated safely, and all safety protocols are followed.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field, preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in AGV and RTLS system management.
  • Experience with RF scanners and Vocera communication devices.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite.

Experience:

5 years of experience in managing AGV systems and RTLS technology, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, required. Proven track record of improving operational processes.

Travels as a passenger to various NCH sites outside of main campus as needed to support operational activities and fulfill job responsibilities.
