Job Description
As an Installation & Commissioning Engineer for AGV systems, you are responsible for bringing automated guided vehicles into operation at customer sites across Belgium. You install and configure on-board software, test vehicle behaviour, and validate navigation, driving and lifting functions. Throughout the rollout, you work closely with specialists in mechatronics, safety, production, testing and service to ensure a smooth go-live.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, test and launch automated vehicles as part of larger logistics automation implementations.
- Configure system components and fine-tune vehicles according to project-specific requirements.
- Perform safety checks and coordinate functional, performance, SAT and FAC testing activities.
- Implement customer-specific functional settings and requirements.
- Create driving routes, define material flows and parameterize tailored system functionality.
- Deliver safety briefings, operator training and guidance on troubleshooting and recovery procedures to end users.
- Keep the project manager informed on project progress and site status.
📝 Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience, preferably in Mechatronics or Industrial Automation.
- Relevant professional experience, ideally in automation environments such as AGVs, WMS platforms, material handling or warehouse automation.
- Good knowledge of electronics, wiring diagrams, schematics, control systems and hydraulics.
- Basic programming knowledge, with experience in Git, Linux, Siemens S7 and Beckhoff IPC.
- Experience integrating with WMS, WCS or other control-layer software.
- Experience using AutoCAD and custom drafting tools for layout and system design.
- Strong communication skills in English and Dutch.
- Practical familiarity with ERP and issue-tracking tools, such as SAP and JIRA, is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel and work on customer sites in Belgium during project delivery.
