3. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Business, Agricultural Economics and/or Financial Inclusion.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in agriculture/finance or project management in banking/agriculture sector required
- Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
- Experience with agri SMEs and keen understanding of financial inclusion as a catalyst for economic growth and job creation
- Knowledge of current trends and innovations in agri-finance for value chains, agri SMEs and smallholder farmers
- Proven experience in project management
- Proven experience in strategic planning and risk management
- Proven experience in people management
- Excellent presentation and listening skills with ability to communicate learnings effectively to internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access)
- Ability to self-organize and think both structurally and innovatively
- Good problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Hardworking with strong analytical skills and a can-do spirit
4. KEY RESULT AREAS
Project Management
- Develop strategies to boost lending to SMEs in agriculture and adjacent sectors for job creation especially for the youth and women
- Create and execute work plans and revise as appropriate to meet evolving project needs and requirements
- Ensure quality assurance and high-performance standards in project execution
- Provide technical expertise and best practices to address systemic and market challenges faced by SMEs
- Communicate project progress and distill learnings to stakeholders via periodic reports, research and other required documentation
- Manage day-to-day project operations and scope including budgeting, work plan activities and field visits
- Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities
- Enforce strict risk management to minimize Bank’s exposure and project risks
- Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
Project Accounting
- Track and report team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
- Manage project budgeting and accounting
- Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and monitor receivables
- Follow-up with clients as and when necessary regarding unpaid invoices
- Perform other duties as assigned
