Business Development & Client Identification: Identify and develop new agribusiness opportunities by engaging with industry stakeholders, farmer cooperatives, input suppliers, processors, and exporters. Work closely with officers to assess potential clients, categorize them based on financial viability, and ensure a seamless transition between business units based on credit thresholds.
Credit Assessment & Financial Analysis Conduct detailed due diligence on agribusiness clients, analyzing financial statements, cash flow cycles, and sector-specific risks to support sound lending decisions. Collaborate with Business Analysts and Credit Officers to develop well-structured credit papers, ensuring they align with the bank’s policies and industry best practices.
Sector Engagement & Networking: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key players in the agribusiness ecosystem, including regulatory agencies, development finance institutions (DFIs), trade associations, and service providers. Represent the institution at industry events, policy discussions, and trade forums to enhance visibility and explore strategic partnerships.
Technical Support to Officers: providing technical support to RMs and business analysts, ensuring agribusiness transactions are executed effectively and well monitored to track loan performance, mitigate risks, and provide proactive solutions to challenges faced by agribusiness clients.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
Additional Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Development Studies qualifications will be advantageous.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in agribusiness, agribusiness financing, or a related field.
Extensive networking capabilities within Ghana’s agribusiness ecosystem, including private sector players, regulatory bodies, and trade associations.
Strong experience in agribusiness financing, credit structuring, and financial analysis.
A deep understanding of agricultural value chains, including production, processing, and trade-related dynamics.
Experience working with development institutions, NGOs, and agricultural projects to support agribusiness growth.
Proven ability to assess business viability, mitigate risks, and develop strategic recommendations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence senior-level decision-making.
