Job Description

The Finance Transformation & Process Architect is a strategic hybrid role designed for a professional who "connects the dots" between complex financial operations and cutting-edge technology. You will be responsible for re-engineering core finance processes—specifically in Budgeting, Forecasting, and Budgetary Control—and translating those needs into a robust digital architecture. You are not just a functional expert or a developer; you are the bridge that ensures technology serves financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Project Orchestration: Lead cross-functional sprints between Finance and IT/GDIA to ensure digital tools are delivered on time and meet functional requirements.
  • Process Architecture & Value Stream Mapping: Lead the end-to-end mapping of finance workstreams (Planning, Forecasting, Month-end Close, and Budget Control). Utilize Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and process flow charting to identify bottlenecks and "friction points," designing future-state architectures that eliminate manual intervention.
  • The Strategic Bridge: Act as the primary translator between Finance stakeholders and IT/Data Engineering teams. Connect the dots between business requirements and technical execution, ensuring that automated solutions solve real-world financial pain points.
  • Systems & Data Integration: Optimize and integrate finance workflows within SAP S/4HANA and Oracle Essbase environments. Ensure that data flows seamlessly between ERP systems, process workflows, and reporting layers.
  • Solution Design & Automation: Develop and prototype efficiency tools like Data Form, the MS Power Platform (Power Automate/Apps), or Visualization tools (e.g. Power BI). Identify the "right tool for the job" to improve process velocity and data integrity.
  • Agentic AI & Innovation: Identify use cases for Agentic AI and LLMs to handle cognitive finance tasks, such as automated variance analysis, complex reconciliations, and predictive forecasting.
  • Data Strategy & Lineage: Oversee the migration of finance data into Data Lakes/EDP. Ensure a "single source of truth" by maintaining strict data lineage and integrity across all automated reporting outputs.
  • Digital Capability & Citizen Development: Serve as a Lead Citizen Developer and "AI Evangelist" for the Finance team. Design and deliver hands-on training sessions to upskill colleagues on "last-mile" technologies, including Generative AI/LLM prompt engineering, Power Platform (Power Automate/Apps), and data visualization. Your goal is to foster a culture of technical curiosity and empower the broader finance organization to build their own automated micro-solutions.

Desired Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Core Finance Expertise: Deep functional knowledge of FP&A cycles, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Budgetary Control. Must understand the accounting logic behind complex accruals and financial modeling.
  • Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and Oracle Essbase
  • Data Transformation & Analytics: Expert level in tools like Alteryx for ETL and data blending. Professional-grade skills in Power BI or similar tools.
  • Automation & Low-Code: Advanced proficiency in the MS Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to write and understand SQL for data extraction, Python for advanced modeling, and a basic understanding of APIs for system integration.
  • Methodology: Proven experience in Lean Six Sigma tools, specifically VSM and bottleneck analysis.

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of financial acumen and technical literacy. We are looking for 5+ years of total professional experience, demonstrated through one of the following pathways:

1: Finance-First Professional

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, paired with a Master’s or certification in Business Analytics/Data Science.
    • OR a Qualified CA, CMA, or MBA (Finance) with certifications in digital tools (e.g., MS Power Platform, Alteryx, or Power Query).
  • Experience: 5+ years in Finance, with at least 3+ years specifically dedicated to Finance Transformation, Systems Implementation, or Process Re-engineering.

2: Technical-First Professional

  • Education:
    • B.E. / B.Tech. in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of total professional experience, including 2–3 years of proven functional experience working directly within Finance operations or processes (e.g., Forecasting, Budgeting, or Financial Reporting).

Demonstrated Success: A portfolio of completed projects where you successfully bridged the gap between a manual finance process and a fully automated, scalable digital solution.
