Agentic Engineering Coach (AI/MCP/Kubernetes) - Portugal Full Remote

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join a global software engineering company, with a strong presence in Portugal and teams across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, as an Agentic Engineering Coach. You will lead the adoption of AI-assisted and agentic software development across multiple engineering teams. The role combines hands-on engineering with coaching and enablement, so you will shape how hundreds of engineers build software. The culture is lean, self-managed, and collaborative: people are encouraged to take ownership, make decisions, and experiment. The position is fully remote from Portugal, with optional access to offices in the north and centre of the country if you'd like to meet colleagues in person.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You will work across engineering teams that deliver high-performance, resilient, and scalable web and mobile products for international clients, many in large-scale retail and eCommerce. Your main responsibilities:

• Team coaching and enablement: embed AI-assisted and agentic practices into daily workflows while keeping quality, security, and maintainability high.
• Delivery and productivity optimisation: work with engineering leadership to improve delivery through AI tooling, automation, and agent orchestration.
• Prototyping and architecture: build prototypes, examples, and reference implementations of effective agentic development patterns.
• Prompting and validation best practices: help engineers develop strong prompting, validation, and review techniques.
• Metrics and impact measurement: measure the real impact of AI-assisted engineering on delivery outcomes.
• Innovation and standards: evolve engineering standards and guidance, and bring emerging agentic techniques into the organisation.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks and agentic development platforms
• Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) based tooling and integrations
• Experience creating reusable AI workflows, engineering accelerators, or developer productivity tooling
• Proven track record helping teams adopt new technologies and practices at scale, through workshops, communities of practice, or technical enablement programmes
• Experience with Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms, and distributed systems
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Based in Portugal
• Experience with Apache Kafka or event-driven architectures
• Background in large-scale digital, retail, or eCommerce environments
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and agent frameworks (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LangGraph, CrewAI)
• Portuguese language skills

Compensation: €2,800 – €3,650/month net, depending on experience and seniority level.
