This role strengthens expansion revenue, deployment quality, and long-term customer success by ensuring solutions are architected correctly from day one.
30 Day
Deeply learn Vapi’s platform architecture, APIs, agent design patterns, and common enterprise use cases.
Shadow customer architecture discussions and review existing deployments for design patterns.
Partner with Deployment Strategists and FDEs to understand current scoping workflows and documentation standards.
Begin contributing to architecture reviews on active enterprise accounts.
60 Day
Lead technical scoping for expansion use cases including new agents, workflows, and integrations.
Produce clear architecture diagrams and scoping documents that FDE teams can execute against.
Conduct structured architecture reviews to identify optimization opportunities and scalability risks.
Collaborate with SEs during complex sales cycles to validate feasibility and ensure post-sale continuity.
90 Day
Independently own solution design for high-value enterprise accounts.
Influence expansion revenue by identifying architectural opportunities aligned to commercial growth.
Publish reusable reference architectures for common enterprise deployments.
Surface product feedback and API gaps to engineering to improve platform capabilities.
5+ years in solutions architecture, pre-sales engineering, technical consulting, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
Deep experience architecting API-first integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven systems.
Strong ability to translate business requirements into technically sound solutions and communicate effectively to both engineers and executives.
Experience with voice, telephony, conversational AI, contact center platforms, CPaaS, NLP/NLU systems, or LLM-based applications.
Skilled at producing clear architecture diagrams, scoping documentation, and technical proposals.
Comfortable working with enterprise customers ($240K+ ACV) in complex stakeholder environments.
Autonomous and self-directed; able to scope and design solutions independently.
Bonus: Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, SIP/WebRTC, Twilio/Vonage/Genesys, or coding proficiency in Python or JavaScript for prototypes.
