
JOB CONTEXT
The Agency & Monitoring unit is part of the Loan Solutions & Distribution team, which is one of the verticals of the Global Financing Solutions division within Ecobank CIB. The unit has 3 main responsibilities:
Execute mandates on syndicated transactions for which an Ecobank affiliate is the designated facility and/or security agent.
Monitor the CIB loan book by tracking early warning signs of default, covenant breach or rating downgrade.
Report on the product performance on a periodic basis.
This role will play a critical part in driving growth, profitability and asset quality in the CIB loan book, by promoting the agency service as a growing source of non-interest revenue for the bank and by monitoring all the loans in which the bank is exposed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
Work closely with the Syndication and Distribution team to promote and pitch our facility and security agency services to our CIB clients, alongside our syndication capabilities.
Prepare indicative offers and mandate letters for facility and security agency mandates as part of tender requests.
Originate third-party facility and security agency mandates for syndicated transactions, where strategically relevant and operationally feasible.
Deliver on assigned revenue targets to maximize non-interest revenue in the CIB loan book.
Oversee and report periodically on the financial performance of the business against budget forecasts and profitability goals.
Execute the business strategy for the agency product as part of the Global Financing value proposition to achieve financial targets and growth objectives.
PROCESS, CONTROL AND OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE
Oversee a portfolio of syndicated loans and closely monitor any credit event until maturity.
Oversee all aspects of syndicated loan administration post-closing by act as the primary interface between borrowers and lenders.
Monitor compliance with financial covenants and contractual obligations.
Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders on syndicated deals and risk-sharing operations.
Maintain agency records and ensure timely reporting.
Supervise escrow, account control, and security agent roles.
Provide regular updates and reports to the lenders and notify the syndicate of any breach or potential issue related to covenants, or other contractual requirement.
Manage credit events such a waiver, amendments, prepayment, refinancing, defaults, etc.
Coordinate with the lenders’ legal advisor (LLA), and our internal legal and compliance departments in case of disputes, restructuring or enforcement actions.
Facilitate the preparation, negotiation and execution of the loan agreement and related documents.
Ensure all parties adhere to the terms and conditions of the loan agreement during the loan life.
works with front and back-office functions on the closing and monitoring of syndicated and risk-shared loans in which Ecobank has participated without a mandated role.

JOB PROFILE/ REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Qualifications
Master’s Degree (or its equivalent) in finance, business administration or related disciplines.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial services, with a strong track record in facility and/or security agency services in global financial institutions.
Strong experience in syndicated loan administration processes, with an in-depth knowledge of the interactions between front, middle and back-office functions during the loan cycle.
Strong knowledge of global financing solutions, including structured finance, project finance, leverage finance, and investment banking.
Strong financial acumen, with the ability to drive business performance and manage financial metrics.
Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Proven ability to drive strategic initiatives and deliver results in a dynamic and competitive environment.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
