The Agency Lending Operations Vice President is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational support of Agency lending activities, including the Inventory Management of client sell/recall requests, cash investment management support, Earnings/Billing processes, and Client Reporting requirements. This role ensures complete and timely recall coverage, accurate cash management and monthly earnings/billing payment processing/tracking, and client reporting requirements, while leading a global team and driving strategic improvements. The position also involves close collaboration with business partners to drive innovation in processes and systems to enhance efficiency, scalability, and risk management, ensuring operational solutions are closely aligned with State Street’s business objectives, industry practices, and evolving market needs.

What you will be responsible for
As an Agency Lending Operations Vice President you will cover –
1. Inventory Management
Oversee daily processing of client recall requests (daily sells, proxy voting recalls, liquidations, rebalances, ad hoc client requests) across markets
Ensure recall coverage is timely and aligns with needed returns
Partner with global custody teams on trade statuses, adjustments
Manage sell fail claims, TMPG, CSDR, buy-ins
Track sell related stats for client management
2. Cash Management, Earnings, Billing
Forecast and facilitate cash collateral investments in and out of vehicles
Perform balance proof with investment vehicles
Ensure accurate monthly Client/Bank earnings reconciliation and distribution
Reconcile, track, and settle Borrower billing payments/receipts
Cash account reconciliations; billing dispute management
3. Client Reporting
Lead client reporting function, serving as key liaison across clients, operations, and technology to deliver accurate, scalable, and controlled reporting solutions
Manage inquiries and escalations, coordinating across internal functions to deliver timely and effective solutions
Support strategic initiatives and new products by assessing upstream/downstream impacts to client reporting and devising solutions to meet client data needs
4. Risk & Control
Identify and mitigate operational, settlement, and counterparty risks
Ensure strong internal controls and adherence to audit requirements
Investigate and resolve cash breaks, fails, and counterparty discrepancies
Provide viable solutions and KRI’s to reduce and/or eliminate risk to Agency Lending, State Street, and its clients
5. Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all Agency Lending operational processes comply with relevant regulations, internal policies, and industry standards
Support reporting requirements and regulatory audits
Participate and track internal and external audits throughout the year, ensuring all deliverables and action items are handled timely
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving regulatory/market changes
6. Stakeholder Management
Partner with Front Office, Risk, and Technology teams to understand requirements, delivering solutions that support business growth and risk mitigation
Act as escalation point for operational issues working with teams to resolve and/or remove road blocks, and ensuring management transparency
Maintain relationships with counterparties, custodians, and clearing agents
Partner with custody teams that support trade management
Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners, ensuring optimal performance and value from third-party platforms and services
7. Team Leadership
Manage and coach operations staff and AVPs
Drive performance, training, and development
Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
8. Process Improvement & Projects
Identify emerging technologies and process improvements to drive operational efficiency, trading profitability, risk reduction, and enhanced client experience with Agency Lending products
Participate in system implementations and strategic transformation programs
Enhance scalability and efficiency of operations
Partner with business leaders, risk, compliance, and technology teams to understand requirements, delivering solutions that support business growth and risk mitigation
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field is preferred
12+ years of experience in financial services operations, with focus on Agency lending
Strong understanding of Agency Lending products and processes (e.g., trade lifecycle management/collateral, Earnings/Billing, vendors)
