Job Title: Afterschool Teacher and Floater

Location: The Learning Experience®
Schedule: Part-time
Regular Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:45 PM – 6:010 PM
Additional Availability Required: School holidays and early release days (hours may vary)


Job Summary

The Afterschool Teacher at The Learning Experience® is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for school-age children during afterschool hours. This role supports children’s academic, social, and emotional development through structured activities, homework assistance, and hands-on learning experiences aligned with The Learning Experience® curriculum and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in a safe, positive, and nurturing afterschool environment
  
  
• Assist students with homework and reinforce academic skills as needed
  
  
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including STEM, arts & crafts, physical activity, and group games
  
  
• Foster positive behavior, teamwork, and respect among students
  
  
• Maintain clear communication with parents and caregivers regarding children’s progress and behavior
  
  
• Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations
  
  
• Collaborate with center staff and leadership to support daily operations
  
  
• Maintain clean and organized classroom and activity areas
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in education or child development preferred
  
  
• Previous experience working with school-age children preferred
  
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  
  
• Patient, energetic, and enthusiastic about working with children
  
  
• Ability to multitask and manage groups of children effectively
  
  
• Must meet state and local licensing requirements, including background checks
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds
  
  
• Ability to actively engage with children indoors and outdoors

Compensation: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
