STOREMAN – STEEL INDUSTRY | PERTH AIRPORT

Full-Time | Afternoon/Night Shift | 2:00 PM – 10:00PM, Monday to Friday

United Steel Perth is seeking a motivated, reliable, and safety-focused Storeman to join our busy steel distribution and processing team in Perth Airport.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with warehouse or storeman experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in maintaining accurate stock and efficient warehouse operations, and is committed to workplace safety.

About the Role

Reporting to the relevant Warehouse/Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe handling, storage, picking, and dispatch of steel products and materials, while ensuring warehouse operations are carried out efficiently and accurately.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Receiving, inspecting, and safely storing incoming steel products and materials.
• Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for dispatch.
• Loading and unloading trucks using forklifts and overhead cranes where appropriately licensed.
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and stock levels.
• Conducting regular stocktakes and assisting with the reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
• Ensuring steel products are stored safely and securely to prevent damage.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse in line with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Working closely with production, dispatch, and sales teams to meet customer delivery requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Previous warehouse or storeman experience, preferably within the steel, manufacturing, or industrial sector.
• Current Forklift Licence (essential).
• Ability to safely handle long, heavy, and bulky steel products.
• Good numerical skills and strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management systems.
• A strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety and safe manual handling practices.
• Overhead Crane Licence or previous overhead crane operating experience is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of steel products, storage, handling, and distribution processes is advantageous.
