POSITION OPEN: Afternoon Custodian

LOCATION: Norup International School

Monday - Friday, approx. 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm

40 hours/week, 52 weeks/year

COMPENSATION: Starting at $18.63 per hour per the current AFSCME Salary Schedule - commensurate with education/experience + benefit package provided in the current AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Good moral character
• Ability to create and maintain good public relations
• Ability to understand and communicate in English
• Ability to clear equipment, materials and methods used in custodial work
• Ability to work without constant direct supervision
• Ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting and moving a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Excellent attendance record
• Sussessful completion of drug/fitness screening and criminal background check

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean assigned areas as follows:
• Sweep and vacuum rooms and halls
• Dust rooms and lockers
• Mop bathroom floor, clean toilets and urinals and replenish paper supplies
• Clean whiteboards as necessary
• Clean doors and windows
• Clean entryways
• Report any needed repairs to custodial supervisor
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in their section
• Perform set ups and takedowns for events and activities
• Clean up after night activities
• Assist with snow removal
• Perform other duties as assigned

Per School Safety Legislation, each individual, who is either employed full-time or part-time, or is assigned to regularly and continuously work under contract, shall be fingerprinted for the purpose of performing a criminal history background check. Prior to employment, selected candidate must complete the fingerprinting process.
