Repair and restore worn holes and bores in heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
The position will be based at Sasol Bosjesspruit Mine and Wadeville and the incumbent will report to the Sales and Services Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate portable Line boring equipment;
  • Repair worn bores, pins, bushes, and housing;
  • Perform bore welding and machining operations;
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and measurements.;
  • Maintain alignment and precision tolerances;
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance;
  • Follow all safety procedures and site regulations;
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Grade 12/ N4;
  • Qualified Fitter and Turner/ Turner Machinist/ Mechanical Fitter;
  • Proven experience in Line boring and Machining;
  • Ability to operate portable line boring machines independently;
  • Welding experience is advantageous;
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and heavy machinery;
  • Ability to use measuring instruments accurately;
  • Driver’s license;
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills;
  • Knowledge of JOY equipment will be advantageous;
  • Must be willing to work overtime, shifts and standby and weekends as and when required.
