Holt of California is proud to be part of the elite group of Caterpillar dealers worldwide. We sell service and rent a wide-variety of equipment Including Large and Small Construction Tractors, Forklifts, and Prime/Stand-by-Power Generation.

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN WEST SACRAMENTO, CA.

This position focuses on development of services support for non-caterpillar product. Service support includes product sourcing, supplier development, marketing and technical support for non-caterpillar power systems equipment and advanced electrical systems.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

An individual that is qualified for this position must have a fundamental understanding of customer services agreements and service offerings in the electric power generation industry and advanced electrical services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the procurement of non-Caterpillar parts and systems and the return and warranty issues related to such purchases.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships and assist with supplier development where necessary to insure competitive pricing and competent parts sourcing.
  • Assist with the development of new service offerings in the advanced electrical services markets.
  • Assist Product Support Manager with marketing strategies for aftermarket non-Caterpillar service offerings.
  • Conduct market research in the aftermarket arena in an effort to support Holt of California’s introduction in the given markets.
  • Attend job-walks as needed to support non-caterpillar power systems projects to include Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS), power generation equipment, transfer gear, switchgear, medium and low voltage transformers and related distribution systems.
  • Assist with the procurement of technical literature, schematics and other technical resources for effective product support on non-Caterpillar power systems equipment.
  • Assist with and oversee special aftermarket projects including but not limited to switchgear retrofits, control panel and controls retrofitting, and UPS system upgrades.
  • Develop quotations as needed for power systems customers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or five years related power systems experience. Successful completion of technical courses or equivalent knowledge of the following product areas: Generac, Katolite, Onan, MTU, Kohler and other generator/switchgear manufacture’s products, and various manufacture of UPS flywheel and static battery systems.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and comprehend written instruction, effectively write electronic service reports, effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal and external customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute KW, KVA, rate, ratio and percentage.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid California driver’s license and a clean DMV report.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high or precarious places, and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

COMPENSATION

Wage Range $25.00 to $32.00

Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
