Job Description

We are hiring in Hawthorne NY! Join us at Easterseals for an exciting career as a Part- Time After School Instructor.

What You'll Do

As an After School Instructor you will assist the After School Coordinator develop, direct and supervise daily activity programs for children. You will help create a warm, caring, and safe environment to support children in ways that improve the overall quality of care and education.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Administer direct supervision of children at Easter Seals and at school sites
  • Generate age-appropriate lesson plans for each area of instruction.
  • Ensure safety and promote active learning through age-appropriate activities and play.
  • Setup appropriate study group homework incentives.
  • Attend required staff meetings
  • Maintain required in-service training hours.
  • Administer scheduled snacks.
  • Complete accurate incident reports when necessary.

You're a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Group Teacher: Associate's degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field or School-age Child Care Credential or other Office recognized credential specific to the school- age developmental period and one year experience working with children less than 13 years of age or High School diploma or its equivalent and Two years direct experience working with children under 13 years of age
  • Assistant Teacher: High School diploma or its equivalent or One year experience working with children under 13 years of age.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must possess a New York State Student Employment Certificate if under 18 years of age

Compensation

  • $17- $21/Hr.

Work Location: On-Site
