Job Description

After School Group Leader

Help Make After School the Best Part of Their Day

School may be out, but there’s still plenty of learning, exploring, and fun ahead.

As an After School Group Leader with Kamaʻāina Kids, you’ll spend your afternoons creating a place where elementary-age keiki feel safe, included, and excited to be there. You’ll lead games, plan activities, help with homework, and build the kind of relationships that can make a real difference in a child’s day.

If you’re energetic, dependable, and enjoy working with kids, we’d love to meet you.

Part-Time | Honolulu Area

$18–$21/hour + Benefits for Part-Time Employees

Work That Fits Into Your Life

Looking for meaningful part-time work that still leaves your evenings and weekends free?

  • Monday–Friday afternoons
  • Most shifts are approximately 1:30 PM–5:30 PM
  • Wednesdays begin around 12:30 PM for early release
  • No evenings
  • No weekends
  • No holiday work

This schedule can be a great fit for college students, future teachers, coaches, retirees, parents returning to the workforce, or anyone looking for rewarding part-time work.

What Your Afternoons Will Look Like

No two days are exactly the same. You might organize an outdoor game, help a student finish their homework, set up an art project, lead a STEM activity, or simply be the encouraging adult a child needs that afternoon.

You’ll:

  • Lead games, recreation, and outdoor activities
  • Plan arts, crafts, STEM, and other enrichment activities
  • Support children with homework and schoolwork
  • Encourage teamwork, confidence, and positive behavior
  • Build positive relationships with keiki and their families
  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized program

Who We're Looking For

You don't need years of childcare experience to make an impact here.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Genuinely enjoys working with elementary-age children
  • Brings energy and enthusiasm to a group
  • Is dependable, patient, and encouraging
  • Can confidently lead activities and keep children engaged
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Is at least 18 years old and has a high school diploma or GED

Benefits That Make Part-Time Work Even Better

Eligible employees have access to benefits designed to support work, school, and family life, including:

  • Up to 75% childcare tuition discount
  • Up to $1,000 per semester in college tuition assistance
  • Paid training
  • Paid time off and holiday pay
  • 401(k) with company match

Eligibility requirements apply.
