SALARY: $35.00 per hour

TITLE: After-School Enrichment

REPORTS TO: The person employed as an After-School Tutor will work with the Building Principal and Central Office Administration

JOB GOAL: Increase student mastery

QUALIFICATIONS:
The person recommended as the After-School Enrichment will be selected based upon the following criteria.
Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in grades K-5 (preferred).
Successful completion of the interview.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
The duties and responsibilities of the After-School Tutor will be to:
Provide academic support to students for homework and test preparation.
Create an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Prepare for instruction and keep accurate records of student participation.
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals. In harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individual or student groups involved.
Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, county policy, and administrative regulation.
Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Maintain professional competence through professional development activities provided by Ohio County Schools.
Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.
Utilize instructional management systems which increase student learning and maximize time on task.
Monitor student progress towards learning objectives, maintain records, report data to Attendance Director.
Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
Maintain professional work habits.
Perform other duties assigned by the Building Principal and Central Office Administrators

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: $35 an hour
