Role: After School Care Supervisor

Academy: Outwood Primary Academy Newstead Green

Start Date: 01/09/2026

Salary (Actual Salary): £ 7,730.81

Working Pattern: 13.75 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday, Term Time only

Are you passionate about creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children after the academy day concludes? Join us as an After School Care Supervisor, a supervisory role ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of pupils while facilitating enjoyable recreational activities. This position is ideal for an organized, energetic, and responsible individual skilled in positive behaviour management, safety supervision, and effective liaison with parents/carers.

You are responsible for the comprehensive supervision and management of pupils at the after-school care provision, ensuring a relaxed environment and prioritizing safety. Duties include greeting children, providing and supervising play, and ensuring all risk assessment guidelines are followed.

A key aspect involves positive behaviour management, dealing with incidents according to agreed strategies, and liaising effectively with parents/carers regarding student pick-up. You must also report problems, accidents, and equipment faults promptly, and ensure that anyone on the premises is duly authorised.

The post requires knowledge and experience of caring for and supervising groups of children, alongside experience or knowledge of childcare supervision. Candidates must possess excellent time management, organization skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

It is essential to be physically able to participate in play and active-based learning, relate sympathetically to students, and recognise potential child safeguarding issues. Relevant qualifications such as Food Hygiene in Early Years Settings, First Aid in Early Years, or an NVQ 2 Childcare qualification are desirable.
