
Job Title: After-School Bus Driver
Status: Non-Exempt, Part Time/ On Call
Reports to: Program Director, Family & Youth Enrichment
Hourly: $35 - $40 per hour
Under the direction of the Program Director of the Family and Youth Enrichment department, the School Bus Driver is primarily responsible for safely operating the school bus on an on-call basis depending on needs of Armed Services YMCA San Diego programs and events. The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating the school bus according to a set daily schedule. He/she must ensure that the school bus is in good operating condition at all times, pick up and drop off students as per the schedule, maintain order and security on the bus and obey all laws, regulations and rules of conduct.
The School Bus Driver must also deal with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner. This includes receiving complaints about schedules and levels and quality of service. The School Bus Driver must make note of and report on any such complaints and respond in a courteous and respectful manner.

EDUCATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Minimum: At least two years of school bus driving for either a school district or other youth-related organization (i.e., YMCA & Boys & Girls Club). Mandatory twenty hours of classroom instruction and twenty hours of behind-the-wheel bus training.
Any combination of educational and work experience that would be equivalent to the stated minimum requirements would qualify for consideration of this position.

Tools and Equipment Used
Standard office equipment and machines, such as a telephone, a personal computer, a multifunction copier, and a 10-key calculator. School bus dashboard control center, bus engine compartment, whole unit school bus knowledge.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
The School Bus Driver is required to have a Class C Commercial Driver’s License with the Passenger Endorsement issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Along with a current CPR/ First Aid Certificate, and a Medical Examiner's Health Certificate.
Additionally, must have reliable transportation and a satisfactory driving record, including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under the organization’s insurance carrier standards.
