Job Description

Tatu City, Kenya’s first operational Special Economic Zone, is owned and developed by Rendeavour, the largest new city builder in Africa. As part of Tatu City’s commitment to empowering the community and bridging the digital divide, we have introduced the After-School AI Program, aimed at equipping students aged 14–15 from Tatu Primary School with critical front-end web development skills. The program is rooted in hands-on learning and real-world project execution and will be implemented at the training academy.

The After-School AI Program Tutor will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons in front-end web development to upper primary students. The tutor will support the development of digital literacy, creativity, and problem-solving through interactive sessions and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured lessons in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript aligned with the program curriculum.
  • Facilitate interactive, hands-on coding workshops to reinforce student understanding.
  • Guide students through individual and group projects, including online portfolios and real-world simulations.
  • Provide mentorship and support during the project.
  • Foster an inclusive, creative, and collaborative learning environment for all students.
  • Track attendance, monitor progress, and report outcomes to the CSR Officer.
  • Support logistics, resource availability, and coordination of sessions with the CSR team.
  • Contribute to program documentation, student feedback, and end-of-program evaluations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or ongoing studies in Computer Science, IT, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience teaching or tutoring coding, especially to adolescents or beginners.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, jQuery).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into accessible content for young learners.
  • Experience with project-based learning methodologies.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to promoting digital inclusion and community upliftment.
