Bloomberg Television is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Africa Producer to join our team in Johannesburg.

The successful candidate will be a strong journalist with deep knowledge of Africa and sharp editorial judgment. You'll understand the business, economic and political forces shaping the continent, and know how to make those stories compelling to Bloomberg's global audience of investors, business leaders and policymakers.

Based in Johannesburg, you'll help shape Bloomberg Television's coverage of Africa, working closely with our Chief Africa correspondent, the TV news desk in London and Bloomberg News teams across the continent. You'll be an experienced producer, equally comfortable handling breaking news, securing major interviews and developing original feature packages that bring Africa's most important stories to life.

We'll trust you to:

• Pitch compelling Africa stories to the TV news desk and other media platforms, with a clear understanding of what will resonate with our global audience
• Develop and execute coverage plans for breaking news, major events and planned stories across Africa
• Play an active role on the EMEA TV news desk, helping drive daily priorities including coordinating reporter hits into shows and bringing in live video feeds
• Find and execute creative ways to use video, graphics, data and Bloomberg's reporting to explain complex African stories clearly and visually
• Develop and produce original feature packages, taking stories from initial idea and reporting through to production and broadcast
• Identify, pitch and produce interviews with African newsmakers, policymakers, business leaders and investors
• Work closely with Bloomberg Television's Chief Africa correspondent, staying across their schedule and helping develop coverage opportunities
• Collaborate with Bloomberg News journalists across Africa to identify reporting that can be developed into compelling television and video

You'll need to have:

• At least 5 years of television experience, including significant experience in live news and field production
• Proven experience developing and producing video for television and digital platforms
• Deep knowledge of Africa and the business, economic, political and geopolitical forces shaping the continent
• A strong understanding of how African stories connect to global markets, economies and audiences
• Exceptional organizational, communication and multitasking skills
• The ability to work collaboratively across teams, platforms and locations
• Flexibility to travel and work outside standard hours when required by the news cycle
