Job Description

The AFLDM Evaluation Officer will play a crucial role in assessing and enhancing the effectiveness of programs within the science and research sector. Based in Darwin, Northern Territory, this part-time contract position is designed for a mid-senior level professional who is passionate about data analysis and programme evaluation. The successful candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of initiatives aimed at advancing scientific research and development in Australia.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of AFLDM programmes to assess their impact and effectiveness.
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to provide insights and recommendations for programme improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarising evaluation findings and recommendations.
  • Support the development of evaluation frameworks and methodologies.
  • Stay updated on best practices in programme evaluation and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Science, Social Science, or Evaluation.
  • Proven experience in programme evaluation or a related field, ideally within the science and research sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

North Australian Aboriginal Family Legal Service (NAAFLS) is a non-government Aboriginal organisation offering legal services and support to victims of family violence and sexual assault.

The primary focus of NAAFLS is to provide culturally appropriate assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults and children who are victims of domestic and family violence, including sexual abuse. NAAFLS works in accordance to the Family Violence Prevention Legal Services “Operational Framework”.

Services available to clients include:

• Legal advice and casework assistance in areas relating to domestic and family violence, care and protection of children, victims of crime compensation, family law, wills, superannuation, housing and debt management.

• Information support and referral services.
