Spectrum.Life is a whole-of-health digital partner delivering clinically backed mental health and wellbeing care to over 7.2 million insurance members, 3,000 corporate clients, and 650,000 university students across Australia and internationally. We're building a clinically led affiliate network of registered practitioners who can deliver in-person appointments in their community, with some also available to respond on site when a workplace faces a critical incident.

Role Brief:

Spectrum.Life is expanding our network of affiliate network. We welcome applications from psychologists, counsellors and psychotherapists, and social workers. Registration or membership must be current, full, and active — not provisional or lapsed. AQF Level 7 minimum and at least 2 years' post-qualification, client-facing clinical experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Single Session Therapy and brief structured counselling face to face — CBT, Behavioural Activation, Problem-Solving Therapy, and Person-Centred models.
  • Conduct structured assessments, clinical formulations (5-P model), and risk assessments at every contact, including suicidality, self-harm, and safeguarding.
  • Use validated outcome measures (CORE-10, PHQ-9, GAD-7, K10, ORS, SRS, WSAS) to guide treatment and track progress.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical case notes, and connect clients to relevant referral pathways as a clinical decision.

Requirements:

PsychologistsCurrent general or specialist registration with AHPRA, no conditions affecting scope of practice. Counsellors / psychotherapistsFull membership with ACA (Level 2+) or PACFA (Registered Counsellor / Clinical Member). Social workersFull membership with AASW. Mental Health Accreditation preferred. Critical incident response
Supports workplaces after events such as serious injury, fatality, violence, or natural disaster — on-site, time-critical work alongside your face-to-face caseload, not instead of it. We're looking for clinicians with:

  • Psychological First Aid training and applied crisis response experience
  • Familiarity with CISM / CISD frameworks and trauma-informed crisis intervention
  • Capacity to travel to onsite locations on short notice, including overnight stays where required

What you'll need in place

  • National Police Check, and Working With Children Check where applicable to your state or territory
  • Professional indemnity insurance ($10M AUD per claim) and public liability insurance ($20M AUD), current and including telehealth cover
  • Current practising certificate and accreditation certificate (AHPRA, PACFA, ACA, or AASW)
  • A private practice space, and your own practice management system with capacity to record sessions on our affiliate platform
  • Working knowledge of the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles, and of your profession's code of conduct or ethics
  • Broader working knowledge to support safe, evidence-based care — including relevant state Mental Health Act and mandatory reporting obligations, WHS requirements for on-site work, and clinical frameworks such as structured risk assessment, trauma-informed care, and scope-of-practice / escalation pathways
