The Astronomy, Mathematics, and Physics Department is seeking affiliate faculty to teach in-person astronomy and physics laboratory courses, including:
• AS 251 Principles of Astronomy Lab
• PH 205A General Physics Lab with Trigonometry I
• PH 305A General Physics Lab with Calculus I
Note that affiliate faculty are hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, as needed, on a semester-by-semester basis.`
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide instruction and facilitate active problem-solving in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if appropriate, with Department course coordination policies
Keep complete and accurate grade records.
Evaluate student performance.
Communicate regularly with students and the department chair, including via Regis-provided email.
Maintain regular office hours to provide students with academic support appropriate for the teaching assignment-- 1 hour per week
Faculty will participate in designing their own course in consultation with the chair of the department.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in physics, astronomy, or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in physics, astronomy, or a related field.

Work Schedule: Dependent on the course schedule and availability of selected candidates.

This position is benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
Pay Rate:
$2,150 per lab course, per semester
