Assistant Facility Administrator

Department: Administration Job Status: Full Time
FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Facility Administrator
Grade/Level: Bachelor's Degree Amount of Travel Required: 15%

Work Schedule:
Typical: M-F 8AM - 5PM with additional weekend and evening work required to meet needs of program.

The Assistant Facility Administrator (AFA) is responsible for providing professional supervision, scheduling, evaluating performance and scheduling training for all direct care staff. The AFA is responsible for crisis management, student scheduling and activities.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Evaluate the work of staff to ensure that the services provided are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively.

• Develops and monitors activities and functions of the program to insure high quality of service.
• Consults with and advises the Facility Administrator on problems relating to program operations.
• Recommends and initiates changes in policies/procedures to carry out objectives of the program more effectively.
• Assists in the administration and coordination of program activities.

Reviews program activities and makes recommendations for change in better utilization of buildings, services, staff, etc.


Interprets program policies, objectives and operational procedures to department heads and other staff as designated by the Facility Administrator.

• Resolves problems with utilization of staff and equipment.
• Assumes responsibility for student records meeting all applicable standards.
• Oversees Medicaid systems to ensure that standards are followed.
• Participates in and attends staff conferences, committees, etc. to evaluate and plan program services.
• Reviews management of cases, assignments, case problems, issues, and methods of service.

Responsible for developing monthly schedules and serving in the "On Call" rotation.
Adheres to the policy and practice concerning issues of creation, editing, transmission, storage and disposition of all Protected Health Information (PHI) of Sequel Youth & Family Youth Services.

• Oversees the child abuse/neglect, investigation of student complaints, and the students' grievance process.

Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing; hiring; compensation; training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a closely related field or 2 years related experience in operations.
